Synopsis: The Bombshells, a small town roller derby team has just won their championship and is heading home for a night of celebrating as an uncategorized meteor shower rains across the night sky overhead. As meteorites begin to crash to the ground and spew out a horde of voracious aliens, the Bombshells must rely on their wit and strength to overcome an evening of extra-terrestrial terror!

CASTING FOR:

SAMANTHA: (34/F/Lead) Single mom of 14 year-old Riley. Samantha can take care of herself. She is responsible, mature, tough, confident. Think Ripley from “Aliens”. She is able to work a full time job, raise her daughter right, and still have enought time to be the captain of the team. Smart girl too. She received a scholarship to go away to school and was doing well until she got pregnant and had to return home.

BEN: (34/M/Lead) Brother of Taylor. Grew up in Antonio Bay, but went away to the big city for school. Dated Samantha in high school. The two were pretty serious and deeply in love until Samantha broke it off to go away to school. Ben is still in love with her though even though he doesn’t show it at first. Ben becomes very successful in the city and stays there, rarely coming back to Antonio Bay. Now that he has some money, he would like to help his sister and the roller team open a rink in the town and his intentions with Samantha are partially a cause as well.

JILL: (32/F/Lead) A nurse. Single, independent, considerate, Jill is Samantha’s best friend and an “aunt” figure to Riley. Because of her busy schedule at the hospital, she rarely gets to hang out with the girls or find a guy. With her bills so high and school stacked on top of her already busy schedule, her only outlet is roller derby. *Smaller girl needed for this part, as Jill is faster and more agile then most, thus the Jammer position on the roller derby team.

RILEY: (14/F/Lead) Samantha’s daughter. Basically, she is her mother’s daughter. After the introduction of Johnny, Riley and him team up. An attraction is obvious between the two, though it isn’t really acted upon given a situation.

JOHNNY: (14/M/Lead) Fit, good-looking kid. Honest, and considerate. The type of kid any parent would want. The Boy Scout type. Also knows martial arts. He’s not Bruce Lee, but he can definitely handle himself in a situation. *some knowledge of martial arts is desired for this part.

AMANDA: (22/F) Allison’s sister (possible twins). Amanda is smart and sexy and tries to get her sister to open up more. Was the influencing factor in getting Allison into derby. (Note: Part may require partial nudity)

ALLISON: (22/F) Lesbian. Will not tell her mother that she is a lesbian and her sister gives her a hard time about it. More timid than Amanda as well. (Note: Part may require partial nudity)

KELLY: (25/F) Tough, smart, and independent. Newest member of the team. Kelly moved to Antonio Bay from Pennsylvania recently to escape some terrible events in her past.

WENDY: (25/F) Think “Tank Girl” but not as punk! Out going, energetic, the life of the party. She is the loudest and proudest Bombshell.

Taylor: (22/F) Sister to Ben, the investor. Taylor is much more mature than most women her age. She is trying to start a business by opening the new roller rink (“location”) in Antonio Bay and also organizes a lot of events for helping local children and such. Savvy, beautiful, and intelligent.

LJ: (27/F) Tough as nails. Doesn’t take shit from anybody. Brunette, hardened beauty. Tattoos galore (if actress has them).

Ali: (26/F) Speedy little gal. Backup Jammer for the Bombshells. Her boyfriend is a real asshole and she has a hard time standing up for herself with him. Her release is roller derby.

Jitters: (30/M) Jittery, socially awkward guy who hangs around the team. Has a noticeable “thing” for Ali.

Prego: (23/F) 2 months pregnant. Not really showing physically. Supports team during game, but cannot play. Loves her boyfriend and he loves her. Both are super excited about the baby even though they can’t really afford it and have no idea how to be parents because they are so young. Pregnancy was unexpected.

Coach Judy Pers: (55-60/F) Was a champion derby girl back in the 70’s when derby ruled. She knows everything there is to know about the game and has created the team with Samantha in Antonio Bay. Bartends/manages at the bar where a fundraiser takes place.

Jerry: (40/M) Johnny’s dad. Typical run-of-the-mill cheese ball dad who has forgotten what it’s like to be a teenager and who’s stuck in the ways of decades ago. Old fashioned.

Regina: (40/F) Johnny’s mom. School teacher. Nice and kind personality.

Lauren: (23/F) Allison’s Girlfriend, Lauren just wants Allison to be honest with herself and her family. She is offended that Allison has not told her mother about them. Lauren also is a little more upfront and easily persuades Allison to get “dirty”. Would play roller derby, but she has a minor handicap (bad hip or has had too many knee surgeries). (*NOTE: Part may require partial nudity)

Ryan: (26/M) Ali’s asshole boyfriend. A “tough guy” type who is overly protective of Ali and jealous of any guy who she talks to. Has a short fuse, yells constantly and doesn’t like Ali to have fun without him.

Noah: (27/M) Prego’s boyfriend. Will do anything he can to protect Prego and their unborn child. Good, honest, loving guy.

Announcer: (M) ability to be eccentric.
